Hydrocut Stinky Girl Track - Brian Haacke
Brian Haacke, mountain bike enthusiast.
After exploring many of the trail systems around the Kitchener & Waterloo Region my discovery of The Hydrocut, which is about 25km of single track bliss, was the main reason for getting a "real" mountain bike. The trails require proper suspension to take on the bumps and roots and proper dirt tires to keep your grip around the twists and turns.
From the Glasgow entrance trail #1 on the map is Kaitlyn's Switchbacks which is a nice mix of turns and burns before entering into the pine area where you find trail #2 on the map, the "Stinky Girl" trail. The name I guess is derived from it's proximity to the landfill site, and depending on the humidity, wind direction and other decay factors, it can be a bit stinky... but the trail is awesome.
My favorite parts of the Stinky Girl trail are the hill side single track (don't lean too far right or down you'll go), a big hill dip that used to slow me right down in anticipation of riding it (which now seems small, but I remember the first time...), and the long boardwalk trail over the swamp area.
My name is Brian Haacke and I encourage you to share your thoughts and experiences on the trails with me here.
